We offer one-to-one tutoring for basic reading and writing skills to English-speaking adults free of charge on Oahu, Kauai, and the Kailua-Kona area of Hawaii

bookmobile
Our Bookmobiles travel weekly from the Wai‘anae Coast to Kalihi-Palama and the surrounding Honolulu to provide families with access to books, educational materials, and hopefully, a life-long love of reading and learning. We visit after-school programs, affordable housing developments, transitional housing, and shelters. During the summer, we also stop at various Summer Fun sites.

Family literacy libraries
The Family Literacy Program is comprised of two libraries/community centers for all residents of Kuhio Park and Mayor Wright Homes. In addition to checking out books (many of which have been donated), patrons can participate in weekly story hour, and literacy activities, and receive help with homework.

Hawaii Literacy offers free classes for adults in English and gaining language skills related to real-life situations. Our program is designed to be an open environment supporting anyone needing assistance from a variety of skill levels, backgrounds, and commitment levels. Students may come as needed, or on a consistent basis. Services are available for speakers of all abilities - from beginners to advanced.
