English as a Second Language

Description

The English as a Second Language Program offers classes to adults (not necessarily residents) at Kuhio Park Terrace Family Center (Mondays and Wednesday evenings) and Mayor Wright Homes Family Center (Tuesday and Thursday in the evenings) in 10 week sessions throughout the year. Classes are for adults and focus on acquisition of language skills related to real life situations. English language software is also used to allow participants the opportunity to get comfortable with technology and work at their own pace.

Parents who attend may bring children over four years old with them, as a youth leader is available to provide reading and other developmental activities with the children while parents are engaged in language classes. Time is also spent doing activities with the children and parents together including reading and learning how to use the library.

Hours

Monday and Wednesday - 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Kuhio Park Terrace
Tuesday and Thursday - 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Mayor Wright Housing
