Adult Literacy Tutor Orientation and Training Schedule

The orientation introduces you to the challenges of living without literacy, discusses the tutor training, and explains what is expected of you as a volunteer tutor. An orientation is required before you begin tutor training. There is no charge for the orientation but call 537-6706 to reserve a space.

Training Schedule for June - December 2008 [View the Orientation Schedule]
The Tutor Training introduce a proven method (phonics-based) for teaching reading and writing to an English-speaking adult in a one-to-one situation. You must pre-register for a training series after you have attended an orientation. (Training is 16 hours long – all sessions required for certification)
